The LSL Sexual health strategy commits to expanding HIV testing into wider community settings. This will include health checks in non-clinical settings (particularly those targeted at key at-risk groups), and will enable us to diagnose HIV early, link patients to treatment and care, and reach those who do not use traditional NHS sexual health services. 2014 PHE HIV report shows around 13% of gay and bisexual men are now living with HIV, in London It is estimated that over 7,000 gay men have an HIV infection that remains undiagnosed.
We anticipate many HIV testing outreach sites and workshop hosts being in community locations and businesses, with co-delivery being key to efficient use of resources while maximising impact.
